When I decided to run for Congress in California’s 26th District, I knew it wasn’t just about politics. It was about real people. Real struggles. Real hope. My name is Liam Hernandez, and I’m here to fight for families like mine—families who have faced hardship but never lost their spirit. This campaign is about building a future where everyone in Camarillo and beyond can thrive.
Why Liam Hernandez for Congress Matters to Camarillo
Camarillo is a community full of hardworking people. But too many are left behind by a system that favors the wealthy and powerful. I know this because I’ve lived it. My family came here as immigrants, and we’ve faced the challenges of making ends meet, accessing healthcare, and finding affordable housing. I’ve relied on SNAP and SSI. I live with autism and bipolar disorder. These experiences aren’t just stories—they’re the foundation of my commitment to justice and equity.
I’m running to bring a fresh, honest voice to Congress. One that fights for Medicare for All so no one has to choose between health and bankruptcy. One that supports universal child care because parents shouldn’t have to pick between work and their children’s safety. One that pushes for affordable housing so families can stay rooted in their communities.

The Heart of My Campaign: Fighting for What Matters
This campaign is personal. My uncle suffered a massive “widow maker” heart attack. He couldn’t afford an ambulance and took an Uber to the emergency room instead. That’s unacceptable. Health care is a right, not a privilege. I support Medicare for All because no one should hesitate to call for help in an emergency.
I also believe in expanding public transit. I’ve spent my life riding Amtrak and Metro trains. Public transit connected me to work, school, and the people I love. Camarillo deserves a district-wide light rail line and better public transportation options. Affordable, reliable transit opens doors to jobs, education, and opportunity.
Housing is another critical issue. Families in Camarillo are being priced out of their neighborhoods. I support increasing low-income housing and expanding housing overall. Everyone deserves a safe place to call home.
Immigration Reform and Justice for Our Communities
The recent military-style immigration raids in our district broke my heart. These tactics don’t make us safer—they terrorize families and destroy trust. I support abolishing ICE and passing real immigration reform that keeps families together and treats everyone with dignity.
Justice must be fair and inclusive. That’s why I support expanding the Supreme Court and federal appeals courts. Our justice system should reflect the people it serves and protect civil rights for all.

Education, Small Business, and Economic Opportunity
Education should open doors, not trap people in debt. I support free community college and student debt relief. Every young person deserves a chance to succeed without a lifetime of financial burden.
Small businesses are the backbone of Camarillo’s economy. I’m committed to small business tax reform and relief. Local businesses need a fair tax system that helps them grow, hire, and thrive.
