Progressive Leader Liam Hernandez: A Leader for Change

Change is not just a word. It’s a call to action. It’s a promise to fight for what’s right. I’m Liam Hernandez, and I’m running for Congress in California’s 26th District because I believe in that promise. I come from a family that knows struggle firsthand. We’ve faced hardship, uncertainty, and barriers that too many people in this country face every day. But I also know this: together, we can build a future where everyone has a fair shot.

Why Progressive Leader Liam Hernandez Matters Now

Our country is at a crossroads. The challenges we face are real and urgent. Health care costs are crushing families. Housing is out of reach for too many. Immigration policies are tearing communities apart. Our justice system needs to reflect the people it serves. And public transit, education, and small businesses need support to thrive.

I’m not just talking about these issues—I live them. I’ve relied on SNAP and SSI. I live with autism and bipolar disorder. These experiences have shaped my vision and fueled my passion for equity and justice. I know what it means to struggle, and I know what it takes to fight back.

Here’s what I’m fighting for:

  • Medicare for All: No one should have to choose between their health and their wallet. My uncle suffered a massive “widow maker” heart attack and couldn’t afford an ambulance. He took an Uber to the emergency room instead. That’s unacceptable. Health care is a right, not a privilege.

  • Universal Child Care: Parents shouldn’t have to choose between work and their child’s safety. Affordable, quality child care is essential for families to thrive.

  • Housing for All: Families are being priced out of their communities. We need to increase low-income housing and expand housing overall so everyone has a place to call home.

  • Immigration Reform: The recent military-style raids in our district don’t make us safer. They terrorize families and break trust. We need humane policies that keep families together and respect human dignity.

  • Justice System Reform: Expanding the Supreme Court and federal appeals courts will help protect civil rights and ensure justice is fair and accessible.

  • Reproductive and LGBTQ+ Rights: Everyone deserves control over their body and identity without government interference.

  • Public Transit Expansion: I’ve spent my life riding Amtrak and Metro trains. Public transit connects people to jobs, education, and opportunity. We need to invest in a district-wide light rail line and expanded transit options.

  • Education and Small Business Support: Free community college, student debt relief, and fair tax reform for small businesses will open doors and strengthen our communities.

The Power of Authentic Leadership

I’m not a career politician. I’m a son of immigrants. I’ve lived the struggles many face. That’s why I’m a progressive leader who listens, learns, and fights for real change. I’m not here to make empty promises. I’m here to deliver results.

My campaign is about you—your hopes, your challenges, your future. I want to be a voice for those who have been ignored or silenced. That’s why I’m proud to be known as liam hernandez a voice for change. Together, we can push back against the status quo and build a government that works for all of us.

Building a Movement for Lasting Change

Change doesn’t happen overnight. It takes courage, persistence, and a community united by shared values. Here’s how we can build that movement:

  1. Engage Locally: Attend town halls, volunteer, and talk to your neighbors. Change starts at home.

  2. Vote with Purpose: The California Democratic Primary on June 2, 2026, is your chance to make your voice heard. Register by May 18, 2026.

  3. Hold Leaders Accountable: Demand transparency and action from elected officials.

  4. Support Progressive Policies: Advocate for Medicare for All, universal child care, housing, immigration reform, and more.

  5. Lift Up Marginalized Voices: Stand with communities that have been historically excluded.

We’re stronger when we work together. I’m committed to building a future where every family feels secure and supported.

A Future Worth Fighting For

I’m running for Congress because I believe in a future where health care is a right, not a privilege. Where families don’t have to choose between work and child care. Where housing is affordable and communities are safe. Where immigration policies are humane and just. Where our justice system protects everyone equally. Where public transit connects us all. Where education opens doors, not burdens us with debt. Where small businesses thrive and grow.

This is the future I want to build with you. It’s bold. It’s necessary. And it’s within our reach.
